A clock pulse generator provides a clock pulse signal, while a pulse shaper circuit generates several periodical pulse trains with preset relative phase position in separate output channels. The clock pulse generator (1) is assigned a binary counter with more than two binary outputs (30-33). A decoder (4), coupled to the binary counter outputs, is of such a design that it triggers all possible binary values of the counter in 2 to the power of n outputs. A programming circuit (5) is coupled to at least a portion of the 2 to the power of n outputs of the decoder. It selectively interconnects preset outputs of the decoder for generating the different periodical pulse trains (A,B) to the output channels (6,7).
