To ensure quieter, smoother running at maximum output by simple means despite unavoidable radial run-out of the slip ring or commutator swept by the contacting brushes, the brushes (6; 7; 8) are pivotally mounted on an axis which runs radially near the surface and axially essentially in the direction of the axis of the commutator (1) or slip ring; in one embodiment, the axis consists of a guide pin (31; 41) which is held in a brush housing (2) surrounding the brush (6; 7), at least partly, near the surface of the commutator (1) or slip ring and which is inserted axially in a guide slot (61; 71) aligned with the direction of pressure of the brushes and open to the surface of the slip ring or commutator (1), or the brush (6) is gripped tangentially outwardly by the brush pressure spring (3a) and is pivotally mounted on tangential bearing parts (33a; 34a). |
