<p>The invention defines a dynamoelectric machine (10) having a superconducting magnet rotor (16) and a method of magnetizing the superconducting magnet rotor (16). The superconducting magnet rotor (16) provides a very strong magnetic field, potentially exceeding the field strength of high energy product permanent magnets. The magnetizing method is based on capturing or freezing of the magnetic field within the superconducting magnet (46), which magnetic field having been obtained by energizing one of the stator windings (40) with a direct current.</p> |
