<p>This invention relates to a lock with a cover capable of preventing unauthorized unlocking. A cover (2) having a shaft (4) disposed on the lock side and opening and closing lengthwise is fitted in such a manner that a rotary portion (10) and key hole (8) of the lock are completely covered therewith. Since the cover shaft and a cylinder (3) dedicated to the cover are operated in an interlocking arrangement via a gear (5) or the like, the cylinder engages with the groove (9) of the rotary portion of the lock and the key and the lock do not rotate unless the cover is closed completely. A grooved knob (1) at which the cover strikes the key hole is allowed to rotate and a groove (12) into which the head of the key fits is bored. Therefore, after the key is put into the key hole and the cover is closed completely, the rotary portion of the lock can be rotated indirectly by rotating the grooved knob. In order to take out the key after it is rotated, the groove for the cylinder for exclusive use for the cover is also disposed on exactly the opposite side to the rotary portion of the lock. The cover shaft is stored inside the lock so that the shaft cannot be cut easily by a cutter, or the like. The outer periphery of the grooved knob of the cover has a recessed or projecting shape and cannot be disassembled. A hard material such as steel or alloy should be used for this lock as a whole.</p> |
