<p>An improved developing system for an electrophotographic color imaging apparatus (10) is disclosed which selectively moves multiple individual developing units (32) from a plurality of first storage positions (34) to the same working or operating position (34) in a processing path to color develop the latent image. The developing system stores the individual developing units (32) remotely from the processing path. The individual toner developing units (32) move in both horizontal and vertical directions as they move from the first storage positions (34) to the second working or operating position (35). The working position (35) is the same distance and time from the charging and depressant coronas (36, 38) in the process path that is followed to produce a colored image.</p> |
