PURPOSE:To obtain a stick food of handy shape by an efficient and simple method by feeding a food of stuffing comprising an edible base material onto an edible film as a covering material, rolling the food into a bar state while compressing and cutting. CONSTITUTION:A material especially comprising vegetable or animal protein, having proper expansion moldable particularly into a circular section is used as an edible base material. A water-soluble protein such as soluble starch formed from a natural component is used as an edible film. Then, first the edible base material pretreated into a sheet-like or fibrous state, for example, used as a food of stuffing is rolled in the edible film and molded into a stick state while being compression molded into a cylindrical state of 5-12mm diameter. Then the film wrapping parts of the molded article are bonded and the food is cut into 5-12cm length to give the objective stick food of handy shape. |
