Fibres and/or textiles, particularly made of nonwovens, which contain up to a proportion of 15 % by weight of one or a number of water-soluble salts. This salt or these salts, in addition, must have a melting or decomposition point which is clearly higher than that of the fibres or textiles, must not alter the mechanical properties of the product in the absence of water and must be inert or beneficial towards plants and organisms in the soil. They are incorporated during the manufacture of the fibres or textiles. When the products come into contact with water the salts dissolve and create cavities, thus opening the way to the action of the bacteria and other microorganisms and/or causing degradation into smaller and more biodegradable fragments. Having become waste after use, these products degrade in waste tips or soils while sparing the environment. |
