Valve for selectively supplying and exhausting a single-acting jack 148 comprises a two-part body 14, 16 with two ports 34, 36 of which one is an inlet and the other an outlet, and ports 38, 40 for connection alternatively to the jack, one of these being blanked off. A hollow valve member 62 in the position shown seats on a resilient seat 42 to isolate the ports 34, 40. A lift valve member 80 has opened the end of the sleeve to exhaust the jack through port 36. Valve member 80 is operatively connected to a diaphragm 90. On depression of a lever 132 by a cam follower roller 140 a pilot valve 126 is opened and connects the diaphragm chamber 144 with the inlet 34 to isolate the exhaust port 36 and supply the jack with compressed air. The end body part 14 can be turned through 180‹ to bring the pilot valve into connection with the port 36 so that the functions of the ports 34, 36 are reversed, Figs. 4-6 (not shown). Port 34 communicates with the valve seat 42 whereas port 36 communicates with the valve 80. The functions of the supply and exhaust valves are therefore reversed, so that in the case shown the jack is normally exhausted and in the other case it is normally supplied.</p> |
