PIEZOELECTRICITY/BENDING CONVERTER

PURPOSE: To realize an appropriate bending element by a structure wherein a specified hard molding is included in a piezoceramic layer having opposite metallized surfaces and being polarized to vary the length upon application of a voltage. CONSTITUTION: A strip-like piezoelectric bend converter comprises two ceramic layers 1, 2 having opposite metallized surfaces, and a conductive intermediate layer 3. The layers 1, 2 are coated a metallization layer 4 on the opposite surfaces thereof and these parts serve as sealing faces touching a valve channel 11. At least one hard molding not elongating or elongating reversely upon application of a voltage is also provided. The ceramic layers 1, 2 having piezoelectric characteristics include a nonmetallized part having roughness of 0.5μm or less. This arrangement realizes an appropriate bend element being employed by a valve designer for designing a valve structurally to avoid such a drawback as increasing natural resonance.
