PURPOSE:To obtain formed articles of polysilazane having uniform thickness, excellent transfer properties and a few defects by molding a liquid polysilazane into a sheetlike state, heating into a high-viscosity sheet, then sticking fast the sheet to molds, heating and curing. CONSTITUTION:A liquid polysilazane alone or a liquid polysilazane (e.g. reaction product of H2SiCl2 and NH3) containing <=30wt.% ceramic powder or ceramic precursor is put in a container 1 to make a liquid sheet 2. Then the liquid sheet is heated by a plate heater 3 to prepare a high-viscosity sheet 2 having 10<4>-10<5> poise viscosity coefficient. Then the high-viscosity sheet 2 is taken out, fixed to the top of a mold 6 by an upper cover 10, compressed air 9 is introduced into the mold and exhausted from an air outlet 7 to stick fast the high- viscosity sheet 2 to the mold 6. Simultaneously the sheet is heated by a heater 4 and cured to give a formed article of polysilazane. |
