PURPOSE:To enhance resolution, thin line reproduction performance, and highlight gradation by specifying a volume average particle diameter of a toner, its particle diameter volume proportion, its particle diameter distribution, its apparent viscosity, and its heat absorption peak value. CONSTITUTION:The toner to be used which is composed of fine powdered substance and nonmagnetic resin particle or magnetic particle has a volume average particle diameter of 6 - 10mum, and contains the particles of <=0.5mum diameter in 15 - 40 number %, the particles of 12.7 - 16.0mum diameter in 0.1 - 5.0 volume %, the particles of >=16mum in <=1.0 volume %, and the particles P of 6.35 - 10.1mum diameter has a particle diameter distribution satisfying expression I, where V is the volume % of the particles P, N is the number % of the particles P, and -dv is the volume average particle diameter of the total toner particles. The toner has an apparent viscosity of 1X10<4> - 5X10<5> poises at 100 deg.C and 5X10<4> - 5X10<6> poises at 90 deg.C and a DSC heat absorption peak value of 58 - 72 deg.C, thus permitting resolution, highlight gradation, and thin line reproduction performance to be enhanced. |
