PURPOSE:To electrically or mechanically detect the presence of malinsertion after inserting a pressure contact terminal into a connector housing and before pressure contact of a wire for preventing generation of a defective by providing a pressure- contact terminal with an insertion detection piece corresponding to the size of its working wire. CONSTITUTION:In the case a pressure-contact terminal A3 having the different size (the low height) is malinserted like a malinsertion detection piece 153, conductive plates 17 are not connected so that a display lamp 20 is not lighted for being judged as malinsertion. On the contrary in the case the pressure-contact terminal of the malinsertion detection piece having the higher size than the regular size is inserted, an inspection jig D does not drop down to a prescribed position to make the other terminal nonconductive so as to similarly detect malinsertion. Thereby, after inserting this pressure-contact terminal into a terminal insertion chamber 7 of a connector housing, the inspection jig D is used prior to the pressure-contact of a wire so as to detect beforehand whether or not a pressure-contact terminal of the regular size inserted into a prescribed position in order to previously prevent generation of a pressure-contact defective with the wire. |
