PURPOSE:To form a bidirectional communication system which has wavelength selectivity and is superior in secrecy economically by connecting a Mach-Zehnder interferometer and input/output parts of a specific wavelength coupling means in combination. CONSTITUTION:A specific wavelength coupling part 30 is connected to an input/ output port 21 and the Mach-Zehnder interferometer 40 is connected to input/ output ports 23 and 25. Then optical signals with wavelengths lambda1 and lambda2 from the input/output port 21 are reflected by an interference filter 33 and made incident on the interferometer 40 through an optical waveguide 35 and the interferometer 40 separates the optical signals according to specific wavelength selectivity and projects them from the input/output output ports 23 and 25. Further, the optical signal with wavelength lambda2 which is incident from the input/ output port 23 is projected on both or either of optical waveguides 35 and 37 through the interferometer 40, coupled by a filter, and projected from the port 21. Consequently, the optical signals having wavelengths are selected, branched, and projected to secure the secrecy. |
