PURPOSE:To decrease the time when the first copy is obtained, by measuring the surface potential of a photoreceptor and carrying out the control turn when the power supply is applied and after an image is formed in order to set the charging degree, etc. close to the target value. CONSTITUTION:The surface potential of a drum is measured after a preturn is carried out to smooth the surface of the drum after a fixing heater is heated up by the application of a power supply. The control turn is carried out to set the charging degree, etc. close to the target value, and then the drum is stopped. With push of a copy button, the copy turn is secured immediately after the preturn to secure the control turn after the copying is over. Then the control value is corrected for the charging degree and the exposure value for the next copy, and the drum is stopped after an after-turn. As a result, the time to obtain the first copy can be decreased by the time of the control turn in comparison with the conventional method in which the copy turn is carried out after the control turn. |
