PURPOSE:To increase not only the ink holding amount but also the effective use amount by applying an org. solvent to an acrylic fiber bundle and removing the excessive solvent and subsequently heating said fiber bundle without performing pressure molding thereafter winding an outer skin around the fiber bundle and forming the same to have predetermined diameter. CONSTITUTION:Acrylic fibers having crimps are formed into a fiber bundle which are, in turn, immersed in an org. solvent capable of dissolving said fibers. At first, the excessive org. solvent is removed from the fiber bundle then said fiber bundle is heated. As a heating method for fusing at least a part of the fibers, irradiation using a far infrared lamp capable of uniformly heating the fiber bundle up to the interior thereof is pref. An appropriate skin forming material such as a resin film composed of cellophane, polypropylene or polyethylene is wound around the bonded fiber bundle. By this method, an ink occluding body having a predetermined diameter is obtained. |
