A hose clip comprises a strip B to encircle the hose, the strip having obliquely arranged slots 21 at one end portion thereof and an actuating device A mounted on the strip at its other end portion, which actuating device comprises a worm actuating member having a threaded portion to engage the slots in the strip and an operating head 33 at one end portion spaced axially from the thread and which device further comprises a housing C in which the worm actuating member is rotatively supported and a plate Q by which the device is mounted on the strip, the housing having an inwardly directed rib 44 to project between the thread and the head to assist axially to locate the worm actuating member in the housing and the housing further providing a partcylindrical shroud 46 for the head. This construction prevents a screw driver from slipping from a slot 37 in the head. The housing and plate are spot welded together and the actuating device is detachably fastened to the strip by providing the strip with a hooked tab 90 which engages a hole 74 in the plate. The strip is also provided with a projection 95 which engages the other end of the plate. |
