PURPOSE:To prevent a creep phenomenon in an automatic car from occurring, by installing a brake locking device. CONSTITUTION:When a car stop is detected, a switch 15 comes into a state of being turned on to a normal contact, and a exciting coil 6 is energized with a continuous rating current whereby a moving iron core 7 is attracted toward a fixed iron core 4. After contact with the fixed iron core, a plunger 17 is kept at that position by dint of attraction due to a magnetic field of a permanent magnet 5. Thus, tip end 18 of the plunger 17 is closely fitted in an inner hole of packing 13. When a driver foot comes off a brake pedal, the packing 13 is pushed to the side of an inflow passage 8 by hydraulic pressure at the side of an outflow passage 9 and its escape passage 19 is also intercepted whereby braking pressure added in time of a car stop is left locked intact. With an accelerator pedal operated when one wants to start, the switch 15 comes ON to a revers contact and thereby diamagnetism is produced in the exciting coil 6 so that the attraction to the moving iron core by the permanent magnet 5 is thus released. |
