PURPOSE:To improve workability without damaging a core material by mounting an iris within the plane orthogonal with the axis of a coated wire, closing blades, moving the coated wire 10 relative to the iris to remove a part of the coating layer of the coated wire, opening the blades, moving the coated wire and removing the remaining coating layer by means consisting of a material which does not flaw the core material. CONSTITUTION:The iris 1 is mounted within the plane orthogonal with the axis of the coated wire 10 and an iris opening/closing lever 2b is operated to close the bore 2a of the blades 2 of the iris to the size slightly larger than the size of the coated wire 10 after the removal of the coating layer and the size sufficient to remove a part of the coating layer 12 so that the blades gnaw into the coating layer 12. The coated wire 10 and the iris 1 are relatively moved in this state to remove a part of the coating layer 12. The iris 1 is thereafter opened and the coated wire 10 is moved and is introduced into a rotating body 3 consisting of a material which does not flaw the core material 11. The coating remaining on the coated wire 10 is removed by the rotating body 3. The coating is successfully removed over the entire circumference of the coating layer 12 without damaging the core material 11 in this way. |
