PURPOSE:To obtain permanent self-doping property by composing an electrode for an aqueous solution-type battery with a polymer containing electrochemically polymerized polyaniline and a sulfonic acid-containing organic dopant. CONSTITUTION:An electrode for an aqueous solution-type battery is composed with a polymer containing electrochemically polymerized polyaniline and an organic dopant containing at least one sulfonic acid residue. The organic dopant for the electrode preferably an aliphatic organic sulfonic acid. More preferably, said organic dopant for the electrode is C1-20 saturated aliphatic organic sulfonic acid. In this way, a conductive polymer electrode having permanent self-doping property is obtained.
