The ramp (1) stopping a motor vehicle in a precisely defined position in a street or in a carpark has a surface level at the run-up end (6), but rising gradually towards the opposite end, which is supported by a vertical end face (7). The sloping surface is concave with a non-uniform radius of curvature. The min radius (3) of curvature is at the front end of the ramp and is greater than 400 mm. Holes (9) are provided at each end for fixing the ramp to the surface of the road or carpark. ADVANTAGE - Resilient car path prior to final stop.
