The innovation relates to an engine with a rotary piston. It is characterised by a case (1) having the shape of two semicircles joined together so that they are slightly separated, and closed by two caps which are traversed at their centre by a shaft (3) on which is fixed a rotary piston (2) equipped with four articulated and guided arms (4.5.6.7.) which create chambers (10.12.13.14.) with the internal casing of the case. The variation in the volume of these chambers brings together the conditions necessary for the operation of a compression-ignition or spark-ignition internal combustion engine. <IMAGE>
