A method for high-speed writing onto a radar screen (1) scanned by a spot, under the action of a deflecting system along a "direct" scan (OA) during which points representing tracks (P1, P2, ..., Pi) relating to detected moving obstacles are formed on the screen and along a subsequent "return" scan during which, alongside the points representing the tracks, micro-images (M1, M2, ..., Mi) are displayed containing data relating to the representative points with which they are associated. The micro-images are television type raster images formed by the scanning of the spot along juxtaposed parallel lines and by modulation of its light intensity with a suitable video signal, the frequency of the deflecting signal which produces the scanning of the "lines" of these micro-images being chosen to have a value significantly above that of the cut-off frequency of the spot-deflecting system associated with the screen. <IMAGE>
