A device for periodically distributing a flow of water to two separate areas consists of a tilting element (3) with two chambers (11, 13) each of which has a water outlet (29, 31). This element tilts about an axis located between the two chambers. During the filling of one of the chambers, the lower walls (5, 6) of the chambers lie at an acute angle to the vertical, so that when the chamber is full the element tilts and the contents of the chamber are delivered in an energetic stream. The second chamber then assumes a stable horizontal position and commences filling. The outlet openings are at an angle (alpha) to each other, and the lower walls are at an obtuse angle (beta) to each other. The angle (alpha) lies in the range 45 to 120 degs. while the angle (beta) is between 220 and 90 degs.. The two chambers may be of different sizes, in which case a balancing couterweight is required or the axis is displaced towards the larger chamber. USE/ADVANTAGE - Used for providing a distributed energetic water flow, especially in waste water treatment plants. Provides a means for effective rinsing of neighbouring areas such as tanks, filters of channels, automatically and at low cost.
|
