PURPOSE:To manufacture a thermal recording material with a high sensitivity and high background whiteness level by making an eutectic of leuco dye or a coloring agent and a specific, thermally melting material and then emulsifying the eutectic in a dispersed liquid at a temperature lower than the eutectic point. CONSTITUTION:A mixture of leuco dye and a thermally melting material or a coloring agent and a thermally melting material is thermally melted into an eutectic. The eutectic thus obtained is emulsified by adding it with its forceful stirring in a dispersant at a lower temperature than an eutectic point. A mixture of leuco dye and a thermally melting material or a coloring agent and a thermally melting material can be obtained instantaneously as a crystal, fine particle-dispersed liquid by the mentioned two processes. During emulsification process, a phenomenon in which the eutectic does not become coagulated, that is, an overcooled state of the eutectic even at a temperature lower than the eutectic point representing a temperature range at which the eutectic should otherwise become solid, is utilized. |
