Heavy metal cpd. vapour sepn. from carrier gas

In the sepn. of evapd. heavy metal cpds. from a carrier gas and desublimation of the cpds., in which the evapd. cpds. are discharged from a melting furnace (1) as a gas/vapour mixt. using a carrier gas and are then desublimed, the novelty is that (a) immediately after discharge, the gas/vapour mixt. is mixed with an additional cool gas (mixt) in a vortex mixing region; (b) a fluid is formed from the resulting desublimed particles and the remained of the gas/vapour mixt.; and (c) this fluid is passed through a particle absorbing filter. Appts. for carrying out the process is also claimed.
