PURPOSE:To provide extremely high wear resistance and stable truing performance by a method wherein a diamond film is deposited on an annular thin base sheet by a gas phase synthesizing method to produce a deposition base sheet, and soft metals are joined with the both surfaces of the deposition base sheet. CONSTITUTION:A diamond film 13 is deposited to an annular thin base sheet 11 by a gas phase synthesizing method. The so produced diamond film 13 is a minute polycrystalline substance and since it does not contain a binder, e.g. nickel, extremely high wear resistance is provided. Further, since there is no anisotropy of hardness depending upon crystal orientation, an outer peripheral part being a cutting edge has stable truing performance. Thereafter, soft metals 14 are joined to the two surfaces of the deposition base sheet 13. This constitution improves rigidity of a diamond truer 1 and reduces vibration of the outer peripheral part during truing.
