SUPPORTING MATRIX FOR EXHAUST GAS PURIFIER AND ITS PRODUCTION

PURPOSE:To uniformly stick a catalyst through a wash coat of alumina and to obtain a high activity catalyst by roughening the surface of a corrugated or flat sheet. CONSTITUTION:When a belt-like corrugated metallic sheet and a belt-like flat metallic sheet are alternately wound with a brazing filler metal in-between and joined, the surface of at least one of the sheets is roughened. Since a wash coat of alumina becomes liable to stick and a catalyst sticks uniformly through the coat, a catalyst for purification of exhaust gas having a high performance is produced at a low cost.
