A heat-sensitive recording material is described which comprises a support (substrate) and a heat-sensitive recording layer applied thereon and containing a leuco dye, a colour developing agent which reacts easily with the said leuco dye and a colouration promoter agent, characterised in that the mixture of the said leuco dye, of the said colour developing agent and of the said colouration promoting agent has a viscosity not exceeding 20 centipoises at 120 DEG C. This heat-sensitive recording material may furthermore be characterised in that the said heat-sensitive recording layer contains 2 to 30 % by weight of leuco dye, 3 to 40 % by weight of the said colour developing agent and 3 to 50 % by weight of the colouration promoting agent.
