Coupling device for tilting balances of textile dobbies, of the type comprising, at each of the ends of the balances, a hitching member (11) capable, under the control of the normal program selection system, of being coupled with a conjugate (13) retention or pulling member, characterised in that the coupling of the members (11, 13) is produced by a tilting component (17) which is hinged (at 11b) onto the hitching member (11) and which has two bearing faces (17a, 17b) capable of interacting with corresponding bearing regions (11c, 13a) respectively made on the said hitching member and on the conjugate member (13), the arrangement being such that the line of force which joins the bearing face (17b) interacting with the conjugate member (13) to the pin (11b) for hinging the component (7) on the hitching member (11) passes through solid material, thereby allowing working in compression. <IMAGE>
