PURPOSE:To transfer the operation of an electric vehicle to the operation in which a separately excited field current is controlled to be constant smoothly by a method wherein, in the acceleration stage of the compound winding motor of the electric vehicle, the output of a control circuit which makes the separately excited field current proportional to an armature current is accepted and, after the constant speed is obtained, the output is rejected. CONSTITUTION:At the time of start, starter resistors 10 are successively short-circuit to accelerate an electric vehicle. A current If applied to a separately excited field coil 5 and a current Ia applied to an armature 3 are increased in proportion to each other by a logic circuit 14 and a proportional control circuit 15 to accelerate the electric vehicle successively. When it is detected 12 that all the starter resistors 10 are short-circuited, the output of the proportional control circuit 15 is rejected by the forbidding circuit 18 of the logic circuit 14. Instead, the outputs of a constant current control circuit 16 and a separately excited field current constant control circuit 17 are accepted and the operation is transferred to a constant armature current Ia operation and the vehicle is further accelerated. Then, when the separately excited field current If is reduced and reaches an instructed value 13, the operation is transferred to the operation in which the separately excited field current If is controlled to be constant smoothly. With this constitution, the transfer to the separately excited field current constant control operation can be achieved smoothly with simple circuits. |
