Since the ZrO2 in the electrolyte 13 and protective layer 16 is incorporated not only in the respective parts formed of 1st and 2nd green sheets consisting of the ZrO2 but also in the electrode part 15a formed of a 3rd green sheet in such a manner and, the materials are sintered and bonded with the extremely good adhesibility. Atm. air is introduced as a reference gas into the atm. air introducing part 12 of this oxygen concn. sensor and is brought into contact with the electrode 14. The circumference is coated with an exhaust gas. This exhaust gas permeates the protective layer 16 and the electrode part 15a and arrives at the boundary between the electrolyte part 13 and the electrode part 15a. The electrolyte part 13 consists of the ZrO2 and the oxygen concn. in the exhaust gas is detected by utilizing the principal that electromotive force is generated when the difference in the oxygen concn. in the electrodes on both surfaces is large. |
