PURPOSE:To improve the adhesive strength of a conductive base body and an immobilized enzyme by subjecting the section of a hydrophobic insulator whose surface is made flush with the end face of the conductive base body to a treatment for hydrophilicity impartation and providing the immobilized enzyme film in such a manner as to be brought into contact with the section of the hydrophobic insulator subjected to the treatment for hydrophilicity impartation. CONSTITUTION:The section of the hydrophobic insulator 2 whose surface is made flush with the end face of the conductive base body 1 is subjected to the treatment for hydrophilicity impartation and the immobilized enzyme film 3 is so provided as to be brought into contact with the section of he hydrophobic insulator 2 subjected to the treatment for hydrophilicity impartation. Gold, platinum, carbon, etc., are used as the base body 1. High-polymer materials, such as polyethylene and polypropylene, are used as the insulator 2. Consequently, the durability of the enzyme electrode is improved. |
