<p>PURPOSE:To enable an IC to cope with either a serial head or a line head by a method wherein a plurality of shift registers which input parallel data commonly are provided. CONSTITUTION:A driver IC1 of a thermal head, in the case of serial data input, acts as a 32 bit shift register in series connection. Then, in case of parallel data input, each parallel signal SpL1 to SpL4 is successively inputted for each 8 bits, and input of four load signals, i.e. 32 bits, is completed. For example, when a load signal interval is executed by the same 4MHz as that for a clock signal Sc, i.e. by 250nS at that time, 32 bit input is completed in 1mus. When serial input is executed by input of 4MHz clock signal Sc, eight fold speed is apparently achieved.</p> |
