OPTICAL FIBER CONNECTOR ASSEMBLY AND ADAPTER FOR THE SAME

PURPOSE: To easily hold a connector inserted into a common housing (adapter) by providing an elastic means between 1st and 2nd clamp members. CONSTITUTION: The adapter 10 has a structure for holding two independent inserting/ejecting type optical fiber connectors 13 and 15 for maintaining prescribed line-up state inside a correspondent common connector housing 17. Besides, 1st and 2nd clamp members 21 and 23 respectively have the form similar to the shape of C and are prepared for clamping and surely holding any one of connectors 13 and 15. Then, the 1st and 2nd clamp members 21 and 23 are mutually connected by an elastic means 43, and the respective clamp members can be relatively moved in four different moving directions each other by original thin element structure at least. Thus, these connectors can be easily positioned inside the common housing 17 of a connector assembly.
