PURPOSE:To obtain long-term reliability of a medium free from oxidation or corrosion of the recording medium layer by incorporating one or more kinds of AMA monomers or the like into monomers or prepolymers of acrylate or methacrylate for the surface protective coating material of an optical recording medium film, and then curing the coating layer. CONSTITUTION:The optical recording medium film 2 in which recording, reproducing and erasing is performed with light is covered with a surface protective coating layer 3. The coating material of the layer 3 consists of monomers or prepolymers of acrylate or methacrylate containing one or more kinds of adamantyl monomethacrylate (AMA) monomer, adamantyl acrylate (ADA) monomer and dimethyladmantane acrylate (DAA) monomer. The coating material is applied and cured to obtain the film, which protects the recording layer from oxidation even when the medium is used, carried or stored in an environment of high temp. and high humidity. Thereby, the obtd. optical recording medium is stable for long time even when stored in an environment of high temp. and high humidity and has long-term reliability. |
