The device is pref. for use in cooling towers. It consists of parallel layers of grid-like splash elements at relative distances, located horizontally or vertically on carrier elements. The splash elements are for material/heat exchange between a gaseous and a fluid medium. In counterflow, crossflow, countercrossflow. Each splash device consists of a single continous length (2) which is folded several times through 180 deg. forming individual parallel layers (3). There are point/strip like distance pieces (4) between the layers.
