Continuous press for mfg. belts, partic. conveyor belts has upper and lower press parts formed of endless steel bands running around drums at each end. Upper and lower bands form an inlet to a pressure gap through which the continuous polymeric belts are passed and subjected to heat and pressure. Additional bands are fed into the inlet gap on sides of the polymeric belt and form continuous seals during processing of the thermoplastic matrix. The additional bands are powdered by friction as they pass through the press. A guiding device for the sealing band is on the same plane as a steel band in front of the inlet side drum and a similar guide roller is behind the outlet side drum. The guide rollers are fitted with collars. USE/ADVANTAGE - For continuous prodn. of polymeric, partic. thermoplastic conveyor belts. Lateral squeezing of polymer under press pressure is prevented.
