PURPOSE:To obtain an air conditioner which generates on noise from a protective net by interposing a cushioning material at the portion between the ends of the wire rods of the protective net, which are inserted into insertion holes, and the front panel of the air conditioner. CONSTITUTION:A bar-shaped cushioning material 10 is fixed to the rear surface of a front panel 4 or of the upper marginal portion 3 of an air inlet port so that the cushioning material is positioned between the top ends of the longitudinal members 9A of a protective net, which are inserted into insertion holes 5 provided on the upper marginal portion on the rear side of the upper marginal portion 3 of the air inlet port, and the rear surface of the front panel 4. The width of the cushioning material 10 is set to be wider than the interval between the top ends of the longitudinal members 9A and the front panel 4, and, in the state of the protective net 9 being mounted on the air inlet port 2, the top ends of the longitudinal members 9A abut against the cushioning material 10 while pressing and deforming it. Further, the lower corner part of the cushioning material 10, which is opposed to the longitudinal members 9A and the insertion holes 5, is cut down slantly so that the insertion work of the longitudinal members 9A into the insertion holes 5 from the lower part of the cushioning material 10 can be facilitated. In a state that the protective net is mounted, the marginal portions opposed to the slightly curved air inlet port or outlet port are brought into a state that they are respectively pressed outwardly by wire rods, and, as a result, the protective net is not vibrated so no noise is thereby generated. |
