A submersible electric fuel pump is provided with a location housing at its connection end which is bored to accommodate a pair of brushes (4) and suitable suppressor devices (13) connected to the input terminal (11). - The brush springs (12) are fixed on projections (20a,20b) which form part of a separate plate (20) located in a central hole in the housing (9). By this means the simple construction of the pump remains essentially unchanged but final assembly is facilitated prior to enclosing operation using end cap (10).
