PURPOSE:To cover an original entirely and sufficiently uniformly even if the original varies in thickness by equipping the supporting member of an equipping mechanism so that it moves vertically to and from a supporting base and also oscillates freely in the direction of the revolution axial line of an original retaining member. CONSTITUTION:An original retaining device 4 is equipped with an original retaining member 14 and a mechanism 16 for equipping sand original retaining member 14 as required. The equipping mechanism 16 is equipped with a supporting member 26, a coupling member 28, and an intermediate member 30. The supporting member 26 has a couple of side walls 32a and 32b positioned at some interval, and pins 34, 36 and 38 are provided between those side walls. The supporting member 26 is equipped to a supporting member 42 adjoining to one side edge of a transparent plate 8 so that it moves vertically and also oscillates freely in the direction of the revolution axial line (center axial line of pin 34) of the original retaining member 14. |
