The seal, for a water-pump, has a housing (1) which has an outward-protruding flange (4), and a primary (7) and secondary (6) seal. At least one, pref. rubber sealing-section (15) is positioned on the housing (1) outer wall (3). The sealing-section (15) at least partly is contained in a U-shaped sectioned recess (14) in the housing outer wall (3). The base (19) of the recess (14) is parallel to the housing outer wall (3). USE/ADVANTAGE - The seal is easily and economically positioned on the housing.
