The device for picking up and setting down loads onto a transport vehicle has a rolling frame (14) which can roll down from the vehicle onto the ground and be raised up again. A separate support frame (18) with feet (48) for setting down on the ground forms a tunnel (44) for accommodating the rolling frame. This support frame can be locked on the rolling frame inserted into the tunnel so that it can be picked up by the lift device (12) together with the rolling frame and onto the transport vehicle. The rolling frame (14) pref. has a longer length than the support frame (18) so that when fully inserted in the tunnel (44) it projects over the rear end of the support frame. The rolling frame has at least one roller (38) at its rear end on the underneath. USE/ADVANTAGE - Loads can be handled with the rolling frame j remaining on the transport vehicle where it can be used for transporting several loads installed on corresponding support frames.
