PURPOSE:To form a discharge space by means of a bulkhead higher than at least 300mu by hot press molding the bulkhead by means of a press-molding metal die. CONSTITUTION:A bulkhead higher than at least 300mu is hot-press molded by press-molding metal dies 3, 6. The press-molding metal dies 3, 6 used for press molding are formed into a desired bulkhead shape and a mirror face shape, respectively, and are each covered by a chemically stable thin film, and as the base material of each of the press-molding metal dies 3, 6, e.g. superhard alloys, thermet, zirconia, silicon carbide, silicon nitride, stainless steel and the like are suitable and the thin film covering the base material of each of the press molding metal dies 3, 6 is preferably noble metals that do not react with nor fuse with glass, and a simple substance or alloy of tangsten, tantalum, rhenium, or hafnium. A bulkhead of height more than 300mu is thus formed with a super accurate pattern, and a discharge space with long gaps is formed. |
