The invention concerns the use of linear polydimethylsiloxanes with viscosity of 10 to 500 mPa.s at 20 degrees C as a cutting lubricant for aluminium machining coated on the cutting tool, which limits the adhesion of chips of machined material on the cutting tool. Linear polydimethylsiloxanes are known in methyl silicon oil, which forms a lubricating film on the cutting tool that is resistant to high temperatures and mechanical force occurring during abrasion of extracted chips from the work piece at the face of the blade of the machining tool. This prevents build-up of the worked material on the surface of the working tool when cold. Use of the cutting lubricant is particularly suitable due to its physiological neutrality and other chemical characteristics.
