The solution deals with the problem of a reliable maintaining of a set clearance between a colour doctor and a cylinder of a skimming stool, where it is necessary to work with thin layers of coating film, like in the manufacturing of leather fabric. The above mentioned purpose is achieved by an immediate union of the doctor (11) and a bearing of a main cylinder (2). The doctor (11) is with its ends, with which it overlaps the length of the main cylinder (2), in contact with adjustable stop pieces (7), to advantage in the form of wedge, that are displaceably arranged in carriers (6) closely connected with bodies (3) of the bearings of the main cylinder (2).<IMAGE>
