NEW MATERIAL:HS-2 having the following physical and chemical properties. Property: strongly hydroscopic white-light brown rubbery substance. Molecular formula: C24H48O11S2. Elemental analysis (%): C 47.04 H 8.55. Melting point: not showing a clear melting point. Color reaction: positive in Bromocresol Green reaction, iodine reaction and anisaldehyde reaction and negative in 2,4- dinitrophenylhydrazine reaction, FeCl3 reaction and Dragendorff's reaction. Solubility: soluble in alkali water, slightly soluble in neutral water and insoluble in methanol and chloroform, etc. USE:A vasodilator and antihypertensive agent. PREPARATION:A bacterium such as Actinoplanes ferrugineus ATCC 29868 belonging to the genus Actinoplanes is cultured at 20-40 deg.C at neutral pH for 3-15 days. |
