The subject of the invention is a productive strain of Aspergillus niger micro-organism, the mutant CA-179 (CCM 8037), for citric acid surface production, which gives higher yield than existing strains. Citric acid produced from the new strain can be used in the food and pharmaceutical industry and in consumer chemistry.
