PURPOSE:To eliminate the adhesion of a spacer to an effective display part and to prevent a light leak passing through a spacer material by providing selectively the spacer material for prescribing thickness of a liquid crystal between a light shielding film and a second transparent substrate. CONSTITUTION:In a color filter substrate on which a color filter FIL, a light shielding film BM, and an oriented film ORL2 are formed successively, a voltage of, for instance, several kV is applied to the light shielding film BM consisting of a conductive film of Cr and Al, etc., and many spacer materials SP are brought to electrostatic adsorption only onto the light shielding film BM, so that the spacer material SP does not adhere to an effective display part. In this state, it is combined and assembled with the lower transparent glass substrate on which a thin film transistor TFT, etc., are formed. Accordingly, the spacer material SP is provided selectively, and the spacer material SP does not exist in the effective display part. In such a way, a light leak caused by the spacer material SP does not occur, and it is prevented that a point defect is generated and a contrast ratio is deteriorated. |
