PURPOSE:To improve chemical erosion resistance, heat resistance, thermal impact resistance, degassing property, low impurities, and thermal conductivity by using a carbon/boron carbide sintered body as the material, particularly material for the 1st wall of the unclear fusion device. CONSTITUTION:Carbonaceous globulets having optical anisotropy are used and after such globulets are further pulverized to preferably, <=10mum grain size and such globulets are used at the time of producing the carbon/boron carbide sintered body to be used with this device. The high-temp. calcination of the molding is executed in an inert atmosphere or vacuum at the time of the calcination of the molding. Separately, artificial graphite is used as a molding assistant. Further, carbon fibers are more particularly preferably incorporated therein at need. The results obtd. by measuring the chemical erosion of this material for nuclear fusion are as shown in the graph. |
