摘要 |
A composition for finishing textile materials comprises an aqueous dispersion of (a) a polymer or copolymer of a vinyl or divinyl monomer, containing a group or groups reactive with NCO group, and (b) an aqueous emulsion of a reaction product containing -NCO groups prepared from a compound of M.W. 500-6000 having at least 2 -OH groups and excess polyisocyanate. The hydroxyl compound may be a polyester or polyether. The polyisocyanate may be aliphatic, cycloaliphatic or aromatic. The NCO-containing reaction product may be used as its bisulphite addition product. The polymer (a) may be derived from: ethylene, propylene, vinyl chloride, vinyl acetate, vinyl ethyl ether, styrene, divinyl benzene, butadiene, isoprene, chloroprene and acrylic compounds. In examples, the following polymers were used in admixture with various polyurethane prepolymers: (1) 85% ethyl acrylate, 15% b -hydroxy propylmethacrylate copolymer; (2), (4), (5), (6), (7) and (8) 85% butyl acrylate, 10% butadiene, 5% methacrylamide copolymer; (3) 65% vinyl chloride, 35% ethylene copolymer.ALSO:Textile materials, e.g. cotton, regenerated cellulose, wool, silk, polyamides, polyurethanes, polyesters, polycarbonates, polyacrylonitriles or polypropylenes are finished by treatment, e.g. spraying or impregnating with an aqueous liquor containing (a) a vinyl or divinyl polymer or copolymer containing groups reactive with NCO groups, and (b) an aqueous emulsion of a reaction product, containing -NCO groups, and prepared from a compound of MW 500-6000 having at least 2-OH groups and excess polyisocyanate. After treatment the textile may be dried at 80-110 DEG C for up to 5 minutes. The textiles are improved particularly with respect to crease, and abrasion resistance, and retention of shape. Tear resistance is only slightly affected. |
